“Welcome to Italy”
Reason for travel: In search of Amal Clooney. (George, women first).
The bus had taken us through the Swiss Alps, a voyage that most people only dream of, or see in bond movies, but no, so 10 EURO, the world was our oyster.
We arrived downtown Como is a fluster, the bus abruptly stopped, informing us that the road was closed and this was the last stop.
It wasn’t our final destination, as Bellagio was still about an hour car away. We pondered on what to do, either take an uber for approx. 100 EURO, take the ferry (picturesque views), or…take the city bus.
We opted for the local way and jumped on the city bus for only 3 EURO. (Canada has a long way to go in terms of transit)
The winding road along the shores of Lake Como to Bellagio took about an hour and provided us with once in a lifetime views, as the sun was setting over the lake.
LAST STOP, BELLAGIO.
We jumped off the bus, with all of our suitcases, looking a little bit worse for wear at this point.
Next thing we know, our hotel concierge was at the bus stop, waiting to pick us up. Little did we know we were about to experience the most BEAUTIFUL PLACE ON THE PLANET.
Hellloooo, Hotel Belvedere
After a seamless check in, we walked into a room with a view that I will never forget. My sister and I literallllyy died when we saw it. Well, see for yourself:
Cloud nine, right?
Next thing we know, we were experiencing the MOST amazing Italian dinner. It was my sisters first thing in Italia, so it was A MOMENT.
My smile really says it all…
Hotel Belvedere was a hidden gem, with stunning views, amazing service and a perfect local, not too touristy and a 2 minute walk into town. Completely. Perfect.
I mean… look at the breakfast…
Bellagio was nothing short of a fairytale, with a new magical experience around every corner.
I’ll try to have more content about travel in Italia soon…
